Jared Sugihara, MD

Dr. Jared Sugihara has served the communities of Hawaiʻi as a board-certified nephrologist since 1974.  After receiving his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1967, he completed his internship at Presbyterian-Saint Luke’s Hospital and his nephrology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.  As a practicing nephrologist in Hawaiʻi for almost 50 years, he has seen the strain on patients, families, and the physicians who care for them.  Looking for a way to provide the critical time needed to education patients while balancing the overwhelming number of patients, Dr. Sugihara envisioned a program to fill the gaps in Hawaiʻi healthcare. He continues his dedication and commitment to the medical community of Hawaiʻi as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at John A. Burns School of Medicine, a member for the State of Hawaiʻi Medical Advisory Board, serves on the Board of Directors for Pacific Medical Administrative Group, and numerous other roles.
